$ 35.6 million verdict obtained on behalf of a woman who suffered permanent brain damage as a result of a neurosurgeon negligently cutting an artery during back surgery. The brain damage resulted in our client living a life of total dependence. She is wheelchair bound, and has cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dysfunction requiring 24-hour care. As a result of the Viriginia medical malpractice cap the verdict was reduced to $2.4 million dollars.
